CHARACTERISTICS: E347-16 is a rutile-coated stainless steel electrode containing niobium stabilizer. Its weld metal has good mechanical properties and resistance to intergranular corrosion, and the weld has better crack resistance. It can be used for both AC and DC, the arc blowing force of the welding rod is large, and the comprehensive process performance of horizontal and vertical welding is excellent. In particular, the welding performance in all positions is better, the welding seams are beautifully formed, and the electrode coating is not prone to redness. The welding rod coating has good strength.

APPLICATION: Used for welding important Cr18Ni111 corrosion-resistant stainless steel containing titanium or niobium stabilizer, such as 06Cr18Ni11Ti, 06Cr18Ni11Nb, etc.

    ATTENTION:

    1. The electrode must be baked at 300~350℃ for 1~2 hours before welding, and can be used immediately after baking.

    2. Use DC reverse connection as much as possible, because when using AC welding, the penetration will be shallow.

    3. Try to use small current and short arc when welding, and the swing width should not exceed 2.5 times the diameter.

    4. Oil, water and other impurities must be removed from the welded parts before welding.

    Rule inspection:

Welding parts are inspected by the quality inspection department of the manufacturer.

For welds that require radiographic testing, the length of the welds subject to radiographic testing should not be less than 20% of the full length of the welds.

When an impermissible defect in the weld is found, supplementary radiographic testing shall be performed near the defect, and the supplementary radiographic inspection length shall be equal to the length of the radiographically inspected part of the weld. If an unallowable defect is found after supplementary radiographic testing, all welds should be radiographically tested.

For important welding parts, the appearance and geometric shape and size of the weld shall be inspected one by one. In addition to the appearance inspection of welds for general parts, the geometry and dimensions of welds shall also be randomly inspected.
For important parts or important welds of important parts, the requirements for non-destructive testing or sealing test and welding mechanical performance test shall be carried out in accordance with the specifications in the drawings or ordering technical requirements.

    Tips for E347-15/E347-16

The selection of E347-15 and E347-16 should be based on power supply conditions and working conditions. If the equipment supports DC reverse connection and has high structural capacity, ‌E347-15‌ (A137) is preferred. Its alkaline coating provides better toughness and crack resistance. If AC and DC dual-use or all-position welding is required, ‌E347-16‌ (A132) is recommended, with better processability and stable forming.

    ‌E347-15 (A137) applicable scenarios‌:
Used for important corrosion-resistant structural parts, such as chemical containers, high-temperature pipelines and other occasions where high crack resistance is required. During welding, strict drying is required (350℃×1h), DC reverse connection must be maintained, and the layer temperature should be controlled to ≤150℃.

    ‌E347-16 (A132) applicable scenarios‌:
It is suitable for on-site maintenance and welding in complex positions, and performs well especially in the environment of AC welding machines. The drug skin is resistant to redness and cracking, and is easy to operate, but attention must be paid to controlling splashing.
